The guitar solo is really patterned after George as well, though a little more clumsily executed. Right notes, but its sounds like they're being played by a bass player. There are often way too many stylistic differences to properly compare live versions of songs. I love live albums, but in my mind they only work well when the band intentionally loses the original feel of the arrangement and crafts something new. Otherwise, why not just play the recording and lip sync? The studio version has so many technical choices that should've never been let go by a producer, but who's going to overrule McCartney? That said, the choices work in the context that it IS McCartney and you can hear him stretching his "wings" with track levels, instrument mastery, and a rather unfortunate fade on the end. Thanks for the feedback!
Paul played all the instruments on this version, and you can really see the influence Ringo had on him as a drummer- he's not really playing a beat, he's doing the ringo-fills and twirls... interesting to hear...
I was always a Paul guy too - enjoyed this one
