thinglets: Tearing open the heavens...

An absolutely electric picture. Following the link explains the scenario behind the shot. The main bolt down the middle shows wider because the light simply "overloaded" the camera's capabilities. Sorry if someone's already reposted this, but I find it incredible.

thinglets: Second Wicked Cool Mindmelting Image of the Week

Okay... I know it's hard to believe, but the blue and green spirals in the picture above are actually the same color. I had to "eyedrop" them in a graphics program to believe it myself, but it's true. If you can't see the similarity at all, try looking at the very outskirts of the "blue" spiral and with less noise around it, you can start to see the blue look more green.

I don't know if it was the Phish concerts I went to last weekend, but the psychedelics are really getting me going this week.

thinglets: My Eyes are Smiling

Not much to say here other than I just got back from following Phish around for four shows and thought my mind wasn't impacted too much until I saw this pic. I then realized I could see music and time and that my eyes were smiling. Does everyone get the same motion trip from this image as I do? Very cool.

thinglets: Tunnels Under Moscow

A really cool HDR picture series of some creepy looking tunnels under Moscow. The underground of major cities are etched with crazy labyrinths. The old Paris metro stations and some of the crazy stuff going on underneath Rome are legendary. These pics have some great lighting considering the environment and represent a setting best suited to a horror novel.

thinglets: Three Eggs Cost... 100 Billion Dollars

In a grand case of inflation in Zimbabwe going crazy over the past couple of years, the pic above is a clear example of how our childhood notions of just printing more money doesn't work too well. At what point does it just make sense to have 100 billion = 1 and start from scratch again?

I guess you can't put all of your eggs in one basket... well you could, but the basket costs 850 billion dollars. Where's a Dr. Evil voice when you need it?

thinglets: perhaps the creepiest thing of 2009

Apparently Loverboy didn't sing a song about Armadillo and Lizard DNA not splicing. I suppose if you just pop on some Barry White, they'll make sweet love and this will be the bastard lovechild... imagine this sneaking into your trailer home!

thinglets: my cheap costume from this halloween

Just brought it in after forgetting it in the glove compartment for a few weeks and thought I would share the sheer lack of effort I put into last month's costumed holiday.

thinglets: google4life

Google has a great new partner in Life Magazine that allows for the magazine's entire photo archive to be searched through Google. Images from the past 150 years and even further back are included. Life photojournalists are second to none in tellling a story through an image. Loving exploring this new archive.
