Great topic!

Supertramps's "Dreamer" (actually, most of the Rodger Hodgson tunes) sounds super happy, but a quick look at the words brings you to a darker place.

I think I still have a polydor compilation record in the 70's called "tear jerkers" which is full of tunes where people were accidentally amputated or maimed or whatever... lots of fun

As part of my 70's-child trauma, the first chord of the Terry Jacks tune still makes my sphincter clench to this day.

I always thought "No Rain" was the perfect hit for someone who was arrested for peeing on his audience... - but that guitar solo is one of the happiest ever.
