I am totally going to try one, not that you care :)

As to the question about how much is 1700mg of sodium, that's almost 3/4 teaspoon of table salt (which has 1800 mg sodium). Which means that the recommendation of 1500 mg is somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 teaspoon of salt per day ... and that seems pretty unmanageable if you don't prepare all your food yourself. Not to mention bland.

I'm convinced the insurance industry has started an anti-salt lobby to save money on claims and tried to pass it off as healthy. I certainly wouldn't advocate for people mainlining salt, but a 5/8 teaspoon seems pretty stringent. That's my conspiracy theory of the day.
So, do you have good supplier for your tin foil hats or do you fold your own? ;)

I think almost every story about health and diet in the past 100 years has been put forward by someone with an ulterior motive. I rarely pay attention to any of it, though that may also be a contributing factor to my Rubenesque physique.

Yo, I was in Florida the summer before the Double Down came to Canada and had 2 of them in one sitting. It was one of the best food experiences of my life!! and Anth the Double Down has a specialized wraper so that you can slide the Double Down out of the wraper and eat it with out getting your hand messy if you ever want to try one.
Brandon - While I admit that perhaps one's hand might not get messy, I think I would somehow feel dirty :-P
