I've met too many people like the fella you describe in movie theatres; it's scary, cuz you get the feeling a large portion population is being dumbed down by what they're fed on TV and at the movies. But then we live in a culture that uses laugh tracks to help people know when they're supposed to chuckle and hee haw- we shouldn't be surprised by what we see and hear in public.
