1. LOVE IT. The world needs more mashups to better spread the understanding and enjoyment of poetry. The Beats may have been on to something.

2. Had an AhA moment, realizing that the climbing riff was sampled by the Beastie Boys (Root Down -- Ill Communication).

3. "I have measured out my life with coffee spoons." is one of my fave lines of poetry ever. "Dare I eat a peach?" is another.

I'm glad it worked and it wasn't just in my mind. I was surprised how well the phrasing matched with the four-beat.

The passage that I love the sheer wordplay and flow of is:
"I have seen them riding seaward on the waves
Combing the white hair of the waves blown back
When the wind blows the water white and black."
