If you thought back on your life as having soundtrack accompaniment, what songs would you identify with memories of days gone by?
Signs of a great 70s van print ad:
1) All the girls are wearing bikini tops.
2) All the guys are stoned or on their way there.
3 The Sun is smiling.
4) Speech bubbles pop up with great quotes like: "Did you know Street Van spelled backwards is Teerts Nav?"
5) The air is full of psychedelic rainbows.
6) You can clip a fill-in form to send for FREE INFORMATION.
7) It comes with a "Customizing Idea Kit" to help the guys... who are on their way.
8) Retro Terms: high-back buckets, ve-ry hea-vy, seat freak, do it yourself porthole, fat Polyglas Tires.
9) Van roofs are for sunbathing.
10) You get a free one year membership in the "Van Clan"... 'nuff said.

The songs on the album cover above aren't necessarily in the podcast. I just thought it was a wicked cool image.

While almost everything else on lovehatethings is Creative Commons, this is not, and if the RIAA or any of the artists ask me to take this down, I'll gladly comply. But until then, if you dig it, maybe you'll go and buy it, which will make everyone happy in the end.

Maybe My Kinda 80s wasn't the same as your kinda 80s. But I didn't listen to synth-poppy dance bands all that much. I listened to ska, alt-rock, and we likes to call "batcaver" music which has since been appropriated as "goth"... sheesh... goth... what's this world coming to?

You can't fake the funk. You can't beat the beat. You can't grift the groove. Gotta move your feet!

It never fails that a couple of times of year I'm stunned that I turned out so well.
Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I watched Sesame Street a couple of hours a day while I was a kid, and if this stuff didn't mess me up, I'm sure it left some rewired synapses.
